Electrolytic Tinplate Steel Coil
description
Tinplate coil refers to sheet steel that is coated with tin. This material is commonly used in food and beverage packaging, as well as aerosol cans, paint drums and other end products. QINGDAO SINCERELY STEEL offers innovative solutions for electrolytic tinning line (ETL) and electrolytic chroming line (ECL) processes that increase tin protection. This includes chrome-based and chrome-free formulations.
Cleaning
The electro-tinning process requires particularly clean surfaces. Henkel provides a portfolio of strong alkaline cleaners to deal with residues from the rolling operation, such as oil and iron. QINGDAO SINCERELY STEEL products cover all applications, from easy-to-use one-component liquid cleaners through to more sophisticated systems where surfactants are dosed separately to boost cleaning efficiency on demand.
QINGDAO SINCERELY STEEL products are also applied by dipping the strip into a solution, or via spray or brush mode, and in electrolytic processes. Our range of Foam Fighter additives are also popular for use in electro-tinning lines.
Passivation
Currently, most passivation processes that take place after electro-tinning (ETL) still involve technologies containing Chromium VI. However, this substance is expected to be banned under REACH regulations in the coming years. For this reason, chrome-free technologies for tinplating are gaining popularity. QINGDAO SINCERELY STEEL products are used to enable electro-tinning processes with chrome-free solutions for passivation of the tin. These are known as Chrome-Free Passivation Alternatives (CFPA), and they empower our customers to stay ahead of this regulatory trend.
Coating Mass /Coating weights for tinplate
There are two types coating of mass: the Equally coated Mass(in which both sides have the same mass of tin coating) and
the Differentially Coated Mass(in which one side is more heavily coated than the other )
