Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coils from China Suppliers - Reliable Factory for Automotive, Construction, and Appliance Needs
Description
Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil is produced by passing Cold Rolled Steel Coil through a Molten bath of Zinc at temperatures of around 460 degrees Celsius. The Zinc coating on the steel coil substrate acts as a barrier between the atmosphere and the surface of the metal. Further due to it’s lower chemical potential as compared to Iron(Fe), it is attacked and dissolved first, thereby offering superior corrosion resistance (cathodic protection).
ASTM A 653A 653M is a standard specification for hot-dip galvanized steel coils. It sets the requirements for the composition and quality of the zinc coating to ensure consistent performance and durability.
The Zinc Coating Mass Range of SISCO steel is between 40 gsm – 360 gsm (grams per square meter of sheet metal). The Surface Finish & Visual Appearance of the Zinc coating of Gi Coils can be:
- Regular Spangle
- Minimized or Minimal Spangle
- Zero Spangle (Extra Smooth)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil?
It is a steel product manufactured by passing cold rolled steel coil through a molten zinc bath at approximately 460 degrees Celsius. The resulting zinc coating provides outstanding corrosion protection.
Which international standards do your galvanized steel coils comply with?
Our steel coils conform to major international standards including ASTM A653/A653M (American), JIS G 3302 (Japanese), and BS EN 10346:2009 (European).
What surface finishes are available for the zinc coating?
The visual appearance of the zinc coating can be customized as Regular Spangle, Minimized or Minimal Spangle, or Zero Spangle (Extra Smooth).
What are the standard dimensions and coil weight options?
The thickness ranges from 0.1 to 1.5 mm, and the width ranges from 600 to 1500 mm. The internal diameter is 508/610 mm, with coil weights ranging from 3 to 7 tons.
What are the primary applications of these steel coils?
They are widely used in building roofing and windows, automotive manufacturing, and as the base sheet for color-coated steel products.
